Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu

In 1877, Johann Gottfried Glauner re-opened the Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu, and sent his son, Karl Albert, to Weihenstephan in Upper Bavaria to learn the skills of beer brewing. Karl returned in 1880 as a master of his trade and determined to brew "the best beer far and wide". Today, four generations later, the Glauner family remain committed to quality, tradition and taste, and brew a selection of exceptional beers according to the Reinheitsgebot beer purity law of 1516, using spring water from the nearby Glaswaldwiesen nature reserve and carefully selected ingredients.

Star Beer: We recommend Alpirsbacher's KLOSTER ZWICKEL, an unfiltered and naturally cloudy specialty made from a blend of two beers.
